Limited company or umbrella?
Working through your own limited company can offer more control and tax efficiency, especially for contracts outside IR35. Umbrella companies are simpler, but usually leave you with less take-home pay. We'll compare both based on your day rate and contracts, so you can choose with confidence.
FAQs
01What is IR35?+
IR35 (the off-payroll working rules) decides whether a contractor working through their own company should be taxed like an employee. For most medium and large clients, the client decides your status. We'll help you understand your position and your options.
02Can CIS subcontractors get a tax refund?+
Often, yes. CIS deductions of 20% are taken before you're paid, and these are frequently more than the tax you actually owe. We'll file your return and claim back any overpayment.
03How much does a contractor accountant cost?+
Limited company accounts and Corporation Tax start from £200 a year, bookkeeping and VAT from £25 a month, director payroll from £5 a month and your personal tax return from £50 a year.
